The Ramayan Trail – 01

Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) and meet your guide. Begin your spiritual journey with a visit to Munneswaram Temple, an ancient Shiva temple where Lord Rama prayed to absolve the Brahmahatya Dosham after defeating Ravana. Continue to Manavari Temple, just 6 km away, where Lord Rama installed the very first Shiva Lingam (Ramalingam) as instructed by Lord Shiva. Later, drive to Negombo, check into your hotel, and unwind by the beach or enjoy a peaceful evening. Overnight stay in Negombo.

After a leisurely breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to the hill city of Kandy, taking approximately 3 to 3.5 hours. Upon arrival, explore the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the spiritual heart of Sri Lanka, which holds immense cultural and religious significance. In the evening, immerse yourself in a Traditional Kandyan Cultural Show, where you can enjoy mesmerizing drumming, colorful costumes, and the thrilling fire-walking ritual. A highlight of the day is the visit to the Sri Bhakta Hanuman Temple, perched majestically on a mountain with breathtaking views of the Kotmale valley. This sacred site is believed to mark the spot where Hanuman paused during his quest to find Sita, adding a deeply spiritual dimension to your journey. After exploring the temple and soaking in the panoramic vistas, you will drive back toward Colombo, reflecting on the cultural and natural beauty experienced along the way. The day concludes with an overnight stay in Colombo.

Begin with a visit to the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara, a revered Buddhist temple where Lord Rama is believed to have crowned Vibhishana as the King of Lanka.
